This group activity will enable you to facilitate an interactive session on communication.
The team members are required to share information verbally in order to solve a “puzzle” – a simple process of elimination and logic. The difficulty comes in not being able to write anything down (at least not for the first half of the exercise), so the group must identify other ways of remembering and sorting key information. Each person must contribute.
It is a relatively simple team communication and information-sharing group activity, ideal for groups expanding their knowledge on cooperation at the same time as it gives insight in memory techniques. Last but not least, it can be linked to features of different personalities thereby allowing participants to gain insight in their own attitudes and behaviours.
The individuals working together tend to move at different paces and to have different strategies for remembering information. Can they, together, develop an approach that everyone understands and which supports different individual needs?
Can they be sure by the end of the activity that everyone has the full picture so that they can correctly complete the “puzzle”?
