Lesson plan on Resilience and mental flexibility
This lesson plan on resilience and mental flexibility will help you conduct an interesting session on the topic. We have included a suggestion for a simple case study that links perfectly to resilience. It furthermore links to topics such as situational awareness, decision making and stress management and in is therefore very suitable for dealing with other topics as well.
We challenge the individual´s perception of rational decision making and turn a few perspectives upside down. We examine how mood and emotions impact on decision making and situational awareness and let the trainees define the moods they find best for resilience.
Varying the training is an important part of a well-structured session and we have made sure to include various elements such as a case study, group work, lots of questions and a bit of research. We center most of the lesson around the Mood Meter which is developed by a team of researchers at Yale University. And we have of course inserted the crucial questions that will not only help you facilitate the key elements and create reflection in your trainees. They will also help you to get to the crucial learning points and conclusions.
