Time: from 60-75 minutes

This lesson includes two interactive exercises, power point, a fully guided lesson plan and exercise instruction. Use this lesson plan to help you prove what happens when everyone follows a procedure. But equally important: how does it affect people, efficiency and outcomes when we don’t.

Standard Operating Procedures are an important backbone in any safety critical organisation. And so is adherence to procedures. This lesson plan will benefit any trainer or teacher involved in safety training and compliance convey these important messages in a fun and powerful way. The exercises included are in no way industry specific and therefore highly suitable for training in aviation, healthcare, oil and gas, medical devices, metro chemical or any other industry where procedural compliance is important and needs to be underlined.

The exercises included prove what happens when we properly brief, plan and execute and according to the plan. It equally paints a clear picture of what happens when people don’t. And naturally also what happens when just one person does not adhere to standard operating procedures.

Another element that is perfectly suited to touch on here, is time management. How do people react when you tell them they have more time available for planning?  Will they grab the opportunity to use up all the available time (which ca be wisely spent on cross-checking their newly invented procedure), or do they feel perhaps a bit too eager to get started.

Use this module to insert an interactive, eye-opening way of dealing with procedural adherence and effective planning, briefing and time management without pointing any finger. The exercise will do the job for you. All you need to do afterwards if conduct a thorough debriefing (which of course we have explained how to do in great detail).

The product is downloadable straight after payment and includes the following files:
